Mission Statement

To educate, inform and empower my clients financially – helping them to accumulate wealth, financially prepare for their retirement, and protect their estates from taxes. Also, to assist business-owners and managers to setup 401(k) and retirement, executive-benefit, and business succession strategies.

Financial Services

Joining SGC in 2003, Bob values this association and shares in the company’s focus on its independent financial advisors, unique team-based approach, and dedication to financial plans that provide comprehensive, personalized solutions.

As a financial planner, Bob and SGC’s financial-planning team analyze all aspects of a client’s current financial situation, creating a plan to help achieve that client’s unique financial goals. Bob assists clients in determining their comfort level with investment risk, tax concerns, and their needs to fund retirement, college, and the future transfer of their estate.

Outside the financial-planning process, Bob offers access to a wide array of quality financial products and platforms*. These insurance and investment products can be used to help implement clients’ financial plans. However, clients are under no obligation to purchase them.

Bob has attained the professional designation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) from the College of Financial Planning – a distinction held by only about 20% of financial advisors. The CFP® designation required two years of study and examinations in financial planning, risk management and insurance, investments, tax planning and management, retirement and employee benefits, and estate planning. Annual continuing education is required for Bob’s designations and licenses.

Through additional courses and exams, Bob also has obtained the  credential of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) from the American College, certifying his expertise in various risk-management fields. Thus, he helps ensure that every client’s wealth is protected, as appropriate, by life, disability, and long-term-care insurance.

He regularly teaches a three-session educational seminar titled “Retirement Planning Today” at various Bay Area locations.

Personal

Bob’s goal: “Follow in my father’s footsteps, using his 40 years in the financial-services industry, to ensure that I, too, can impact positively many people’s financial lives.”

A Bay Area native, Bob was graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a B.S. in Economics. He spent 10 years in executive  sales  positions with  Bay  Area  high-tech  companies, including IBM, Sprint and Equinix. Financial experience included work with a national property-and- casualty-insurance broker, servicing commercial accounts.

Bob resides in Moraga, CA with his family. He and his wife Jessica enjoy the softball and soccer games (he’s also a coach) of their three children: Grace, Brooke, and Charlie. When not spending time with his family or helping his clients, he usually can be found on a golf course somewhere.
